Adele live comeback grammys

Adele live comeback grammys, British chart-topper Adele will make her live comeback at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in just under two weeks, after being on vocal rest since throat surgery sidelined the singer late last year.
The 23-year-old singer tweeted the news to her fans, saying "Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can't wait, speak soon xx."
In a statement, Adele said she was "immensely proud to have been asked to perform" at music's biggest night on February 12 after a three-month hiatus on vocal rest.
It is "very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all," she said.
The two-time Grammy winner, whose second album "21" smashed chart records around the world last year, was forced to cancel U.S. tour dates in November 2011 when she underwent microsurgery in Boston to treat a benign polyp on her vocal cords which was causing recurrent bleeding.
Appearing with her at the 54th Grammy Awards show will be top acts including Coldplay, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
Adele is also expected to perform at the BRIT Awards, Britain's top music accolades, in London on February 21.

Nearly 14-Pound Baby Born in Des Moines

Nearly 14-Pound Baby Born in Des Moines, Move over, Glen Davis: the Boston Celtics player's nickname, "Big Baby," might well be stolen by a California newborn.

Matthew Anthony Maldanado weighed 14 pounds, 3.8 ounces when he was born in Salinas, Calif., on May 9, according to NBC Los Angeles.

The infant's poor mother, Emily, was in labor for two days before doctors at Natividad Medical Center performed a cesarean delivery.

"They took him out and the doctor started saying 'damn', so they put him on the scale," Emily said, according to NBC.

Meanwhile, father Jose was given a heads-up that the baby would be big, the Examiner reported.

Baby Maldanado was nearly twice the size of the average American newborn, which weighs 7.5 pounds at birth, according to Parents.com.

Still, Baby Maldanado is a half-pint compared to the biggest baby ever. The Guinness Book of World Records says that in 1878, a Canadian mother named Anna Bates birthed a son who weighed 23 pounds, 12 ounces.

Brady last night tried to shrug off his invitation to 25,000 delirous Patriots fans at Gillette Stadium to join him in a Super Bowl XLVI victory after-party. After the Patriots landed, Brady met the national media and attempted to explain.

“It was a pep rally,” Brady said with a smile, as laughter filled the room. “Certainly the players were excited, I know that 25,000 fans who were there were excited as well so ... We had great support home and away. Hopefully we’ll have some Patriots jerseys in the stands next Sunday night.”

NYC subway food ban

NYC subway food ban, A state lawmaker from New York City is pushing legislation to ban eating in the subways in an effort to help cut down on the city's rat problem.

The bill, proposed by state Sen. Bill Perkins, D-Manhattan, stipulates that anyone caught eating in the subway gets a $250 fine, the New York Post reported Sunday.

"I've seen people open up plates of french fries and chicken, and have a grand old meal -- and then discard their stuff on the track," Perkins said. "The question becomes, 'How can we minimize the feasts that rats are experiencing?' By trying to control human behaviors."

However, many transit-users disagree with the legislation.

"It would kind of suck," said Meredith Naughton, 22. "New Yorkers are always trying to make the most of their time and it kind of helps to eat on the go."

Underwater UFO Millennium Falcon- Underwater Discovery Sparks Rumors Of Crashed UFO In Baltic Sea Between Finland And Sweden: looks like ‘Star Wars’ ship, “Star Wars” fans are wondering whether a mysterious object found deep in the Gulf of Bothnia is from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Swedish researcher Peter Lindburg found what some are calling an “underwater UFO” which happens to resemble the famous “Star Wars” spaceship, “Millennium Falcon.

For now, it’s an unidentified submerged object. But a strange circular formation deep below the Baltic Sea has sparked great excitement among UFO believers who think it might be a crashed flying saucer.

While searching for shipwrecks in the waters between Finland and Sweden on June 19, a Swedish team of nautical salvagers say they uncovered a “very strange anomaly” — a round object about 60 feet across resting about 300 feet below sea level.
“You see a lot of weird stuff in this job, but during my 18 years as a professional I have never seen anything like this. The shape is completely round,” Peter Lindberg, leader of The Ocean Explorer team, told the local press, according to MSNBC.
The circular object — described by Gizmodo as resembling Star Wars’ Millenium Falcon — is also trailed on one side by what appears to be a lengthy patch of displaced seabed.

Peyton manning rumors

Peyton manning rumors

Peyton manning rumors, Longtime Colts QB Peyton Manning appears to be headed out of Indianapolis. The future Hall of Fame quarterback is in the midst of a public feud with Colts' owner, Jim Irsay, about comments he made in an interview with the Indianapolis Star. Basically, Manning expressed his displeasure with personnel changes in Indy and Irsay called Manning a politician for doing so publicly.

It should be noted that Manning was likely to be released from the Colts before this soap opera, anyway. The four-time MVP suffered a potentially career-ending neck injury that caused him to miss entire 2011 season. As a result, the Colts secured the number one pick in the draft, which they will surely use on Stanford QB Andrew Luck.
The question now is, where will the 36-year-old play if his neck heals properly?
The following is a list of rumors and reports on Peyton Manning's impending free agency:
* Chris Perkins of CBS Sports: "The Miami Dolphins are interested in pursuing Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning and Green Bay's Matt Flynn as free agents, local reports say. Due to NFL tampering rules, Dolphins officials can't speak publicly about either player because both are still under contract. Those same reports say Miami is considering trading up for Baylor QB Robert Griffin III."
* Mike J. Miller of Yahoo! Sports: "The word on Sunday was that the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and Washington Redskins would all be trying to get him signed, according to the Miami Herald. Two sources tell the paper that the Dolphins will 'aggressively pursue him if he's a free agent and if he's cleared medically."
* Bram Weinstein of ESPN via Twitter: "One of the people who's opinion at ESPN I trust the most says Peyton + Saturday to Redskins is VERY likely ... So, I have to warm up to it."
* Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic: "Owner Jim Irsay … has said, yes, the Colts plan to draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the top overall pick. So where does that leave Manning, Super Bowl champion and four-time league MVP? It's looking more likely he'll be a castoff, making him one of the most unusual and unexpected free agents in NFL history -- or at least since Joe Montana left the 49ers. But multiple teams will be interested, including the Cardinals, who owe Kevin Kolb a $7 million roster bonus on March 17 … Other teams such as the Redskins, Dolphins and Jets are sure to kick the tires on Manning if the Cardinals don't."
* Chris Mortensen on ESPN's Mike and Mike via the Washington Post: "Ok, remember, we said that there's still a big question mark of health. … That's something that nobody can speak to at this point. But if there's a reasonable assurance that Peyton's gonna be healthy, then who's not gonna line up? The Washington Redskins are one obvious team. That's unquestioned. You know, the Miami Dolphins would be another obvious team. Let's see how the Jets finish and Mark Sanchez finishes down the stretch. I think Sanchez has a tendency to play very well late in seasons. But if for some reason, he really flops, then am I ruling out the Jets? The answer's no. But I wouldn't emphasize them. The Redskins would seem to be a clear-cut team, but it is speculative. Everybody's mentioned how speculative it is, because of the uncertainty of Peyton's health. But I do not believe that Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck will be on the same roster next year."
* Judy Battista of the New York Times: "The Jets? Signing Peyton would mean the end of any future for Sanchez in that locker room. The Redskins? Peyton's creaky neck won't last for six games against the Giants' and Eagles' pass rush or DeMarcus Ware in Dallas. Arizona? Maybe. Kevin Kolb has all the earmarks of a bust, they have a solid running game and a fantastic receiver in Larry Fitzgerald. My guess for best-fit is the Dolphins who play tough and would win 9-10 games with Peyton. Sorry Jets' fans! You're going to end up facing Peyton AND Brady for a quarter of your season. At least you'll always have the Bills."

Kim Kardashian 'I Wasted Everyone's Time'

Kim Kardashian 'I Wasted Everyone's Time', Should we feel bad about reveling in watching Kim Kardashian's marriage end on national TV via the latest "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" episode? We maybe should. But we do not.

So here it is in all its glory. Kim starts off by saying, "Something just feels so wrong and distant inside. This doesn't feel right." and then she says to Humphries, "Sometimes I just feel so dead inside."

And sometimes - the jokes just write themselves.

Then we see this obviously chemistry-challenged couple out to dinner and have stilted conversations about their "relationship."

"There's so many things that we need to fix, but I have anxiety thinking about the outcome. I know that's not normal," says Kim. Yeah, that's what's not normal.

From the other room, sister Kourtney calls Kim out on her crap, calling her "such a b****" and then Kris says she's not ready for someone to be in her life.

Then Kim cries, oh brother. And says, "I feel bad for him. I feel sad. I feel bad for the guy. I changed his whole life and he fell in love with me and I fell in love with him and now my feelings have changed ... I wasted everyone's time, I wasted everyone's money, I wasted everyone's everything. At 30 years old, I thought I'd be married with kids and I'm not. You don't think I feel bad?"

Hmmm. What do you think, Zappers?

He also wrote to one friend, "I won't be out tomorrow but I have no doubt I will emerge unscathed back on track."

+Jan Brewer Obama

+Jan Brewer Obama,Arizona Governor, Obama in 'Tense' Exchange Over Book, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Thursday evening released a copy of the hand-written letter she handed to President Obama in the confrontational meeting she had with him on an airport tarmac in Phoenix Wednesday.

The meeting raised eyebrows Wednesday when Brewer, who has had a contentious relationship with Mr. Obama for years, was seen pointing her finger at the president. President Obama said reports of the meeting were "blown out of proportion," adding that Brewer simply wanted to give him a letter.

In that letter, Brewer asks Mr. Obama for another meeting and boasts that her policies -- which stand in contrast to the president's policy prescriptions -- have helped turn around Arizona's economy.

"We both love this great country, but we fundamentally disagree on how to best make America grow and prosper once again," Brewer wrote. "I'd love an opportunity to share with you how we've been able to turn Arizona around with hard choices that turned out to be the right ones."

Brewer pointed out that Arizona is now among the top 10 states for job creation, even though it was not long ago at the bottom.

"I'm proud of that hard-won recovery -- the result of many tough decisions, courage and perseverance," she wrote.

In an interview with CBS News Thursday, Brewer defended her behavior. She said that Mr. Obama told her he was unhappy with how she depicted a previous White House meeting in her book, "Scorpions for Breakfast."

Mayor Gets 2,000 Tacos for Latino Community Comment

Mayor Gets 2,000 Tacos for Latino Community Comment, Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr. got what he asked for.
Two days after Maturo sparked a national firestorm for his "I might have tacos" quip when several of his town's police officers were charged by federal authorities with harassing Latinos, immigration advocates sent 500 tacos to his office for lunch on Thursday.
Maturo, though, ducked out the backdoor shortly before the delivery arrived. The group, Reform Immigration America, left him a single symbolic taco and donated the rest to a soup kitchen.
In a statement issued later, Maturo said he would work on the challenges facing his town.
"The abundance of tacos that we received today underscores the importance of the issues currently facing the town of East Haven and highlights the need for the town to continue the process of healing and reform that I initiated immediately upon taking office," Maturo said.

Peyton Manning, Jim Irsay Say They're Fine With Each Other

Peyton Manning, Jim Irsay Say They're Fine With Each Other, It doesn't look as if Peyton Manning will go anywhere next season -- unless he's not healthy.
On Thursday, Colts owner Jim Irsay told NFL Network he couldn't foresee a scenario in which Manning would play anywhere but Indianapolis unless he can't play at all.
Manning his missed the entire season and has not participated in full team practices since having the third and most invasive surgery on his neck Sept. 8.
''I think the situation is if he's back and he's healthy, I see him coming back and playing here,'' Irsay said in a 10-minute interview before the game with Houston began. ''I think the hope is that his health is in the position where he could return again. That remains uncertain and that's something that's first and foremost on my mind.''
The signs are encouraging.

School Bans Ugg-Style Boots

School Bans Ugg-Style Boots, Pottstown Middle School officials have really stepped in it.

Parents and students alike are in an uproar about the school’s recent ban of “open top boots” because kids have been allegedly using the footwear to sneak contraband into class.

The boots in question are mostly Uggs, Pottstown School District director of community relations John Armato told the Pottstown Mercury.

Though the letter sent home to parents Wednesday notifying them of the mid-calf boot ban did not specify what kind of contraband the middle school mules have been smuggling in their Uggs, cell phones and personal devices are strictly forbidden in class, reports the Mercury.
