Suge Knight arrested marijuana

Suge Knight arrested marijuana Suge Knight busted for pot Former Death Row CEO Suge Knight, 46, was arrested in Las Vegas after police pulled him over  and discovered marijuana in his car Police then realized he had several warrants out for his arrest. Knight is currently on probation  and this arrest could reportedly compromise that,

Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday (February 8 ) after police discovered marijuana during a traffic stop. TMZ reports that the former Death Row honcho--who helped to break acts like Tupac and Snoop Dogg--was making an unsafe lane change in a black Bentley at 5:34pm on Wednesday. Cops then found a small amount of weed in his possession and also found multiple warrants outstanding upon running Knight's name through the system. He was processed in a nearby jail and then released a short time later.

This latest instance only adds to Suge's mounting driving-related legal woes. Last summer, he was sentenced to 36 months probation for driving on a suspended license. Suge pled no contest to this charge and was given a slap on the wrist of probation. Ironically, earlier in the year, the same truck was impounded in Beverly Hills after Suge was stopped (again) for driving on a suspended license.

TMZ reported, "Knight was cited -- but not arrested-- and after his truck was hauled away, he asked a random female onlooker for a ride to a nearby location ... and she obliged." You can always depend on the kindness of strangers...
Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was recently arrested in Las Vegas and charged with possession of a "controlled non-medical substance."Police said officers pulled over the 46-year-old, who was driving a black Bentley with California license plates, in the city on Wednesday afternoon after he made an unsafe lane change, OnTheRedCarpet.com has learned.

They discovered Knight had three outstanding warrants and found him to be in possession of less than an ounce of "a controlled non-medical substance," which CNN reported to be marijuana. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has not confirmed this. Knight was taken into custody and released without bail because his charges were considered minor.

In Nevada, possession of one ounce of marijuana or less for medicinal use is legal. If a person cannot prove a doctor prescribed it, they could face fines or even jail time, which could be given if they have been charged with a similar offense twice before.

In California, a person is legally allowed to possess up to eight ounces of marijuana if they can prove it is for medicinal use, and could face jail time if they cannot and are facing a second charge.

Knight is the former CEO of Death Row Records and has helped launch the careers of rappers Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Knight has produced albums such as Dre Dre's 1992 debut solo record "The Chronic," a slang term for marijuana.

Knight is on unsupervised probation for driving on a suspended license. In December 2010, he was arrested on an outstanding minor traffic warrant as he left a restaurant near Universal Studios outside Los Angeles. In August 2008, Knight was detained and accused of beating his girlfriend and possessing illegal narcotics. The case was dismissed.

He was also jailed in 2003 for several months for violating parole by punching a parking valet at a nightclub in Hollywood. He has served time in prison for violating probation on assault charges stemming from a fight at a Las Vegas hotel in 1996. Hours after the fight, Shakur was shot and later died.
Cops reportedly pulled Knight, 46, over after he was spotted making an unsafe lane change in his black Bentley.

After running his name in the system, police learned Knight had several warrants out for his arrest stemming from minor traffic violations, the gossip site reported.

The police then made a search and said they found a small amount of pot in his possession.

Knight, now on a three-year unsupervised probation for driving with a suspended license, was eventually taken to a nearby jail and released later in the day.
