Police arrest masked superhero Seattle
Police arrest masked superhero Seattle, The self-styled 'superhero of Seattle', also known as masked man Phoenix Jones, Guardian of Seattle, has been arrested by police for assault after allegedly pepper-spraying some people as they were leaving a nightclub.
According to police, the Seattle superhero - who featured on Metro.co.uk back in January after having his nose broken while trying to protect his beloved city - approached the group from behind as they left the Pioneer Square club and headed to their car.
'Preliminary investigation indicates that a group of men and women (the victims) had just left a club near 1st Avenue and Columbia Street and were walking to their car. They were dancing and having a good time,' states the official police report on the incident.
Two men in the group are said to have chased the suspect after the reported pepper-spray attack, and he was arrested on four counts of assault on Sunday morning.
Jones, whose superhero costume comprises tights, a mask and a skin-tight black-and-gold rubber suit with a bulletproof vest, claims he used the pepper spray to break up a fight and to protect himself.
'I would never hurt or harm another person if they were not causing harm to another human being,' said a message on his Facebook page.
In video footage of the incident - Jones often goes crime-fighting with a camera in tow - one bystander is heard shouting to Jones 'What is this, Halloween?'
After the aforementioned broken nose incident, Seattle police urged self-styled saviours like Jones to hang up their capes before anyone got seriously hurt.

'Does Superman get his ass kicked?' asked one detective. 'These people should not be called superheroes.'
