Cougar found in man's home, police say
Cougar found in man's home, police say_ Firestone police got a unique call Wednesday; a mountain lion
had fallen into a window well.
The mountain lion was about 5 to 6 months old and weighed 30 to 40 pounds, Michelle Lavers of the Firestone Police Department told 7NEWS.
When Lavers arrived at the home on Buffalo Street, she went into the basement, looked into the window and confirmed it was a mountain lion.
Lavers told 7NEWS she wasn't sure if the mountain lion fell into the 6-foot-deep window well or jumped in.
A man working in his yard was attacked by a cougar Saturday.
The man was working in his driveway when he heard a growl close by. He turned around to see a cougar charging toward him.
He was able to kick the cougar in the face, but not before it sunk its claws into the man's legs.
The Division of Wildlife Resources is now searching for the cougar and will likely put it down once it is found. The attack was close to several homes and popular campgrounds in the area.
