Lea Michele_Lea Michele Talks Nose Job, Diva Rep
Lea Michele_Lea Michele Talks Nose Job, Diva Rep__ Glee star Lea Michele opened up in the December issue of "Allure," on newsstands Nov. 22. She discusses her eating habits, her reputation as a diva and an encounter with an agent that almost lead to plastic surgery.
"When I was 15, my mother and I went to meet a manager who said, 'You have to get a nose job in order for me to work with you,'" Michele tells the December issue of Allure. "My mother would say to me, 'Barbra Streisand never got a nose job. You're not getting a nose job.' And this was before I really even knew who Barbra was. I just knew that she was, like, the messiah for girls like me."
The 25-year-old star stuck with acting and singing. By 20, she was casted in an original Broadway performance of "Spring Awakening," where she shed her top each night as co-star Jonathan Groff shed his pants.
Michele first auditioned for a Hollywood part on "Glee," where she was casted as Rachel Berry and skyrocketed to fame.
Both Berry and Michele have been nicknamed "divas," but Michele doesn't seem too fazed by the term.
"See, I came from the theater world, where the word 'diva' was awesome. But it's different in Los Angeles," Michele tells Allure.
During the summer of 2010, many questioned if Michele suffered from an eating disorder following a photo shoot for "Rolling Stone" magazine where the actress allegedly looked skinnier than she had the year before. She claims that she had surgery due to an infection in her jaw, which lead to some weight loss.
Michele vehemently denies having any kind of eating disorder. "I'm half-Italian," she tells Allure. "I can eat some b---hes under the table!"
However, many find that hard to believe considering Michele is a staunch vegan. "People get confused," she tells Allure on her veganism. "[They assume] I just eat grass."
