Most restaurants require proof of service or for the member of the US Military to be in uniform. Some locations are not participating and there are several that are hosting their events on a day other than Veterans Day, so check the details.

2011 Veterans Day Restaurant Freebies and Discounts

Applebee's: Applebee's restaurant is once again honoring veterans and active duty military with a free entree on Veterans Day, Friday November 11, 2011. A free entree will be served to those who provide proper proof of service at any one of the approximately 2,000 Applebee's restaurants nationwide.

Olive Garden: Veterans and active duty military get a free meal on Veterans Day. More information here.

Krispy Kreme: Get a free doughnut if you are an active-duty, retiree or veterans. Call ahead to make sure your store is particpating.

Hooters: Get a free 10 pc order of wings (boneless or regular) on Friday 11/11 when you present a valid military ID or proof of service. You must buy a drink to get this deal. See a list of participating Hooters restaurants here.

Denny’s: Get a free Grand Slam breakfast at Denny’s locations in Texas, Indiana, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, Arizona, New Mexico, and Washington, DC. Certain NY locations are included as well — Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. Call your local Denny’s to see if this deal is offered locally.

McCormick & Schmick’s: The annual Veterans Appreciation Event will be held at participating McCormick & Schmick's restaurants on Sunday November 13, 2011. Reservations are recommended. More information here.

Golden Corral: A free 'thank you' dinner is available to vets and active military. This event is on November 14, 2011 and is available at select Golden Corral restaurants from 5pm -9pm. Find more information here.

Texas Roadhouse: Free lunch for military members and vets on Friday, November 11, 2011. This offer is available between 11am - 2pm and an ID is required. More information here.

Spaghetti Warehouse: This offer is open to everyone to celebrate Veterans Day. Print the coupon here and you can get a serving of lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs or any original recipe spaghetti entree for just 11¢ on November 11, 2011.

Subway: Some Subway restaurants are offering a free 6 inch sub or flatbread sandwich on Veterans Day. You must have proof of service. No available at all locations, so call ahead.

UNO's Chicago Grill: From November 7- 11, 2011, UNO's is offering all vets and active military a 19.43% discount on their entire check (excludes alcohol). More information here.

TGI Friday's: TGI Friday’s is offering a Buy 1 Get 1 Free entree deal on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2011 to all Veterans and members of the US Military. A valid military or veteran ID must be presented or you can show up in uniform.

Little Caesars Pizza: US Military and vets get a free order of Crazy Bread with proof of military status/service. Call your local Little Caesars to make sure they are participating in this deal.

Sizzler: Veterans and Military can show proof of service on 11/11/11 and get a free 6oz Steak Entree with the purchase of a second one.
