The proposal was broadcast on their reality TV show, Keeping up with the Kardashians, but lots of planning went into ensuring the romantic moment was captured on screen.

Sources close to the show have told the Daily Mail: "Kim told Kris how, where and when to propose, it was absolutely no surprise to her whatsoever."

"First of all, Kris proposed in the middle of the day," the source continued, "And he had to do that because it would create better lighting to capture the moment."
Despite Kim seeming shocked when Kris asked her to marry him, the source even claims that it was her who came up with the idea to have the proposal spelled out in rose petals.
"Kim looked so surprised but she knew it was happening. She was in full hair and make-up, as she always is on the show. Kris wanted it to be very intimate and romantic, but all of his ideas were shot down by production officials and Kim."

However, latest episodes of Kim's TV programme show her in floods of tears as she questions whether she rushed into the marriage too quickly.
Speaking about the marriage being fake, Kim has said: ""I think that's really ridiculous that I have to even defend that."
