Katy Perry's Dad Accused of Anti-Semitic Rant, Katy Perry may be getting backlash from her religious parents over her marriage to and divorce from husband Russell Brand, but the folks who raised her are not completely free from sin either, according to a new controversy involving Perry's father.

Keith Hudson, who is an evangelist preacher in addition to being Papa Perry, reportedly offended Jews in a recent sermon he delivered in Ohio.

"You know how to make the Jew jealous? Have some money, honey," he told his congregation at the Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio. "You go to L.A. and they own all the Rolex and diamond places.

"Walk down a part of L.A. where we live and it is so rich it smells. You ever smell rich? They are all Jews, hallelujah! Amen."

In a statement from the Anti-Defamation League, Hudson's words were declared "anti-Semitic" and his speech "a reminder that the age-old stereotypes are alive and well and continue to bubble up to the surface in many segments of society."

"We have made much progress in this country in terms of religiously based anti-Semitism," ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman said in the statement. "That's why this manifestation is so disturbing.

"It is always much worse when it comes out on a religious platform — when an individual who is looked up to as a religious leader gives the old anti-Semitic stereotypes a patina of renewed credibility."

Hudson and his wife Mary recently called Perry's split from Brand a blessing from God.

"I'm sure Katy is trending on the Internet just to get you to church tonight," the singer's mother said during a sermon last week.

Foxman, however, believes that it is actually Perry's parents who need to reexamine their priorities: "Katy Perry is blameless for her parents' behavior, and it is unfortunte that her good name is now attached to her father's words."
