Sacha baron cohen wins bruno lawsuit
Sacha baron cohen wins bruno lawsuit, A woman who sued Sacha Baron Cohen for "emotional distress" after she was caught up in the filming of his outrageous Bruno movie has lost her case and been ordered to pay the funnyman's legal fees.
Richelle Olson filed suit against Cohen and studio chiefs at NBC Universal, claiming she was injured in a stunt at a bingo hall in Palmdale, California in 2007.
She originally claimed she had been a victim of a "physical struggle" which left her wheelchair bound and suffering from "brain bleeds" after trying to remove a microphone from Cohen, who had interrupted the bingo game as his gay Austrian fashionista alter-ego.
However, after Cohen's legal team unearthed video footage showing Olson had not been touched during filming, her attorneys changed their claims of assault and battery, opting to sue Cohen for "emotional damage" instead.
But a judge sided with Cohen and the film studio during a hearing at Los Angeles Superior Court last week, dismissing Olsen's suit and ordering her to pay US$17,000 for Cohen's legal fees, according to TMZ.com.
