Lisa Lopes was the only one of a car full of people to die in a crash in Honduras nearly a decade ago.
Lopes was driving a Mitsubishi Pajero and allegedly tried to swerve around or cut a truck in front of them, but there was another vehicle heading towards them in the opposite direction. Lopes jerked the wheel hard to avoid a head-on collision with the oncoming car and drove the car completely off the road, causing the vehicle to roll over several times before smashing into two trees, completely destroying the car.

While everyone else in the car survived, Lisa and three others were thrown from the windows of the car. Lisa died of severe neck injuries and head trauma.

Ironically, the passenger in the front seat of the vehicle was recording the last few seconds leading up to the crash on video tape. The video is below.

Lisa's casket reads a verse from one of her songs with TLC, Waterfalls: "Dreams are hopeless aspirations, in hopes of coming true, believe in yourself, the rest is up to me and you."
