Woman Heart Attack Grill, What do you expect when you go to a restaurant that specializes in food designed to kill you? Sometimes, a customer dies, but mostly they just go to the hospital. Why isn’t a bookie setting odds and taking bets?

In case you hadn’t heard, and you shouldn’t really have been listening anywhere you could have heard about this-the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas, Nevada made the news recently for a health-related story.

The headline at Huffington Post said it all: “Heart Attack Grill Customer Collapses While Eating Double Bypass Burger, Smoking.” Actually, she was also drinking a margarita. Well, I’ve had some killer margaritas, but I kinda think it was the Double Bypass Burger that sent the poor woman to the ground, unconscious. Thankfully, she is recovering in a hospital-and hopefully, not licking her licks as she eagerly awaits a return visit to hamburger heaven.

Earlier this year, as reported also by the LA Times and ABC News, a customer reportedly had a heart attack while eating the Triple Bypass Burger. In case you are wondering how far this mad-cow-ness goes, the Quad version set the Guinness World Record for “Highest Calorie Hamburger” and topples in at a whopper-ing almost 10,000 calories. Hate to think about the fat content.

In an ironic twist that only cooking bacon can achieve, the restaurant’s hail and hearty spokesperson wasn’t: he regrettably died of a heart attack last year. Perhaps free food is not a good job perk.

Owner Jon Basso is proud of his restaurant and its reputation. “It’s the mecca for unhealthy lifestyles,” he said. He eats a single bypass every day, obviously exercising great restraint.
