Khloe & Lamar on hold

Khloe & Lamar on hold,Amid NBCUniversal’s upfront presentations, reports have surfaced that one of E!’s most popular couples, Khloe Kardashian Odom and Lamar Odom, won’t be going forward on a third season of Khloe & Lamar. But the stars say that isn’t exactly the truth, and The Hollywood Reporter’s sources also say those reports are inaccurate.

“Our show is not canceled,” Khloe tells ET at the upfronts. “Lamar and I have just chosen to take a break this summer. I feel like we’ve been on a whirlwind and doing back-to-back shows. We just want to take a little time off for Lamar to be with family time, kids, basketball, Olympics, you never know. We have a lot on our plate right now.”
Part of that “whirlwind” includes several months of upheaval in Lamar’s basketball career. In December, Lamar was traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks. That included a move for him and Khloe to Texas, which played out on the second season of their show, now airing. After he failed to play up to his All-Star standards, Odom and Mavericks management announced in early April that he would leave the team.

Add to that two other personal blows for Lamar during the off-season: One of his cousins was shot and killed, and the basketball player was a passenger in an SUV involved in an accident that killed a teenage cyclist.

“I think the issue at hand is we just want to be happy,” Lamar says at upfronts. “So, we’ll take our time and we’ll get back to it when it’s time.”
E! confirms to THR that Khloe and Lamar will appear on the upcoming seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. And sources tell THR that the couple just needed a break as they were shooting both their own series and Keeping Up at the same time. While there isn’t a date planned for when Khloe & Lamar will return to production, sources say it will depend on Lamar’s basketball and overall schedule.
The announcement that Khloe & Lamar would be put on hold after this season follows recent news of a new three-year agreement between E! and the Kardashian family. The deal covers three more seasons of Keeping Up; a talent agreement with all of the family members; and first-look rights to any unscripted TV ideas from the family members.
