Latifah had for the first time, performed at the “Long Beach lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Pride festival,” in Southern California two weeks ago, which in itself was enough of an indicator for some, she was performing at the festival to embrace her gay side.Queen Latifah denies coming out,Queen Latifah is one of many celebrities who have been tied to gay rumors throughout their career, and after some vague comments made at a recent Pride festival she is having to deny she has finally “come out.”
Then Latifah created more of a frenzy over her sexuality, according to the Advocate, after making some vague comments while on stage such as, referring to the crowd as “her people” and then saying “Are you feeling all the unity?” which was enough for quite a few people to be convinced she was coming out and was admitting she was gay.
However, Latifah is denying that was the intention by telling Entertainment Weekly “that definitely wasn’t the case.”
She then added, “I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It’s just not gonna happen.”
Either way, she apparently doesn’t care if people think she is gay or not and as a celebrity no believes what she says about it anyway. In 2008, she told The New York Times, “I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life… I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway.”
Whether Latifah is gay or straight, we respect her privacy, and will uphold her integrity.
