Cheerleader To Shave Head--NFL Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader Megan Meadors has agreed to shave her head to raise $10,000 for leukemia research.

This began last week, when several NFL Indianapolis Colts players shaved their heads to show support for Chuck Pagano, their head coach.

In September, Pagano revealed that he had leukemia; he recently began losing his hair due to medical treatment he has been receiving. So, when the team’s mascot “Blue” challenged the team’s cheerleaders to get involved the former Miss Indiana accepted.

“Blue” recently tweeted a challenge that read, “ATTENTION @nflcoltscheer: If I raise $10,000 4 leukemia research, will a cheerleader let me shave her head at our next game? #CHUCKSTRONG”

Well, it looks like “Blue” has a lot of work to do as Meadors tweeted back, “@BlueColtsMascot count me in! I’ll do it I’m #ColtStrong”
He responded by tweeting, “R U serious??? You’ll let me shave ur head? #OperationShaveMegansHead”

Now the anthropomorphic blue horse has until November 25th to raise the funds. If he succeeds with his challenge, he will get to shave the cheerleaders head during a game between the Colts and Bills that week.

Meadors posted a video on the Colts website in which she says, “Everyone knows someone who’s been affected by cancer. I’ve had close friends who’ve passed away because of it, family members… and we’ve even had a couple girls on our squad who lost their father to cancer.”

She adds, “So knowing that I [can be a source of] strength and inspiration for someone going through this — a young girl at Riley Hospital who doesn’t think she’s beautiful because she doesn’t have hair… I want to raise money to eradicate the disease, and that’s really what it’s all about.”

Doctors announced on November 5, that Pagano’s cancer is in remission.
