Coronation street michael le vell s*x claims,CORRIE star Michael Le Vell, who plays mechanic Kevin Webster, has been arrested over an alleged s*xual assault of a teenage girl.

The Coronation Street favourite, a devoted family man, was arrested at his £750,000 home in Hale, Manchester.

He was quizzed by detectives before being released on police bail until next month, pending further inquiries.

His lawyer was present during the police interviews.

Forty-six-year-old Le Vell, real name Michael Turner, has strenuously denied the allegation and is determined to clear his name.

In a statement this morning, he said: "I strenuously deny these allegations and will do everything in my power to prove my innocence."

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said last night: “ A 46-year-old man from Hale has been arrested on suspicion of an historic s*xual offence.

“ He has been bailed pending further inquiries.”

Le Vell has played motor mechanic Webster for the past 28 year and his character being hit by scandals over the years have been some of Corrie’s most-watched episodes.

But two years ago even Le Vell drew a strong line against his character having an affair while screen wife Sally Webster - played by Sally Dynevor - was suffering cancer.

He told producers he would quit the show if the affair wasn’t ended.

One source said:” Michael has been really bowled over by these accusations. It has knocked him for six.

“ He is a devoted family man, and this has made his world fall apart.

“ He leads a quiet life and doesn’t court the celebrity lifestyle.

“ He is determined to carry on working and to clear his name. But at the moment his mind is scrambled. “
