Dustin dominique aleman + two counterfeit bills_ Eagle Staff Report
It may have been a first: A 17-year-old College Station teenager was arrested Monday after trying to pass counterfeit bills in the A&M Consolidated school cafeteria.
According to police, 17-year-old Dustin Dominique Aleman gave a friend three real $1 bills and two counterfeit bills and asked the friend to get change from the lunch lady. The friend offered to give Aleman $5 from his own pocket, police said, but Aleman refused and insisted the friend get the money from the cashier.
When the friend attempted to use the bills, the employee checked their authenticity with a pen and discovered the forgery.
Aleman was charged with the state jail felony of forgery of a financial instrument. He remained jailed late Tuesday in lieu of $3,000 bail. The charge is punishable by up to two years in prison.
