Guns N' Roses Announces Six-Date Club Tour
Guns N' Roses Announces Six-Date Club Tour, If you've got a predilection for veteran hard rock bands, you're going to love February. The month kicks off with Tool at the Izod Center and concludes with Van Halen at MSG; in between, Rise Against comes to Camden's Susquehanna Bank Center (Feb. 4) and Foreigner plugs in at Count Basie (Feb. 15). And earlier today, Guns N' Roses announced four dates in the area -- Feb. 10 at Roseland Ballroom, Feb. 12 at Terminal 5, Feb. 14 at Webster Hall, all in New York City; and Feb. 24 at the House of Blues in Atlantic City.
These are substantially smaller venues than the ones Guns N' Roses played on its last tour. The hard rock band appeared at Izod Center last November; there, the group began at 11 p.m. and played until 2 in the morning. Guns N' Roses did not sell out the arena.
Guns N' Roses has never played Roseland or Terminal 6, but the group did play Webster Hall 24 years ago when it was called the Ritz. The Guns N' Roses performance at the Ritz in 1988 remains legendary among fans of the band, and to celebrate the occasion, the Webster Hall marquee will be modified to look like the one at the old Ritz. That show, however, was played by a very different version of G N' R -- frontman Axl Rose is the only member left from the lineup that recorded the hard rock classic "Appetite For Destruction." The current Guns N’ Roses team features guitarists Bumblefoot Thal, DJ Ashba and Richard Fortus, synth players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, bassist Tommy Stinson (a former Replacement) and drummer Frank Ferrer.
Tickets for the New York City shows go on sale to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Tickets for the Atlantic City show go on sale Feb. 3 at 10 a.m.
