Robin Gibb+Robin Gibb Speaks Out About Cancer Battle
Robin Gibb+Robin Gibb Speaks Out About Cancer Battle _ Robin Gibb (of The Bee Gees) is suffering from an aggressive form of liver cancer but has vowed to continue his charity work whilst he battles the disease. According to today's report from The Daily Mail (January 20, 2012), the singer was admitted to hospital two months ago and has undergone eight weeks of chemotherapy treatment, which has left him "feeling drained and fragile."
The effects of the treatment left him unable to attend a charity music event last Wednesday, which was held to raise funds for a music project named Rock The House. His friend Mick Garbutt told Gibb's fans "He would have absolutely loved to be here in person, but unfortunately that simply hasn't been possible with his health. It is true to say he is very unwell, but he's an incredible man and enjoys lots of support from his close circle of friends and family, and particularly from his wife Dwina." Robin is reportedly determined to attend the premiere recital of his first ever classical composition in April. He co-wrote the piece - entitled The Titanic Requiem - with his son, Robin John. It will be performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the year the ship sank.Whilst speaking of Robin's condition, Mick Garbutt added that "While he can still use his profile to raise awareness for issues close to his heart he will always do so" and also praised his friend by saying "He's very strong willed - if anyone can beat this it's Robin."
