Jeremy lin:Jeremy Lin Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week
Jeremy lin:Jeremy Lin Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week _I'm probably about the last writer on the internet not to have said a word about Lin. Well, I'm breaking that bubble, as Lin has now won Eastern Conference Player of the week.

After his breakout performance against the Nets about a week ago on February 4th, my brother texts me "You better add Lin." (For Fantasy basketball purposes)

My reply: "After one game, huh? Let him do it at least a couple more times."

Unfortunately, for those of you who have competed in very competitive leagues before you don't really get the chance to wait when a guy posts a 25 point, 7 assist, 5 rebound game. So I guess I was foolish for not adding him while I had the chance.

Over the last five Knicks games, all victories, Lin has averaged 26.8 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.2 rebounds. While these numbers are more or less guaranteed to decrease a little bit when Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire return, his value should remain pretty high, and the Knicks realize at this point they seem to have found the answer to their point guard woes that caused them to sit at just 8-15 before the "Linsanity" hit.

While his scoring may decrease with the return of the Knicks' franchise players, his assists and efficiency may increase. With Melo attracting double teams, and Amar'e to be used as a pick and roll partner, we may see Lin get some better looks at the basket, and with better options to pass the ball to, he may have some more double digit assist games like the one he had against the Jazz last week when he posted 10 assists to go with his 28 points.

It's a hot start for a hot young player, and I don't think there are any players or fans that would seek to nominate any other player for this award.
