Titanic Belfast opens to the public on 31 March 2012. The development is owned and managed by a registered charity, Titanic Foundation Ltd.
When legal agreements were signed in November 2008, the cost of the project was £77m. £37m is being provided by the Northern Ireland Executive / Northern Ireland Tourist Board, £16m by Titanic Quarter Ltd, £14m by Belfast Harbour and £10m by Belfast City Council.
Titanic Belfast tells the stories of the RMS Olympic and the RMS Titanic. The site covers more than 12,000 square metres of floor space, shared with private function rooms and community facilities.
To most of the world, the name Titanic means tragedy, spiced with romance, sacrifice and luxury.
But in Belfast, where it was built, the doomed ship is a triumph of industry, enterprise and engineering.
