IPad 3: Will it include a new variation on the touch screen? The most reliable speculation around new features for the next iPad has focused on a sharper display screen and a faster processing chip. But beyond those possibilities, other rumors abound: Perhaps the device will have 4G capability; maybe Apple will announce that Microsoft is bringing its popular suite of Office products to the iPad.

But amid the sea of seemingly likely and unlikely conjectures, there’s at least one rumor that seems pretty far-fetched. Fox News is reporting that the device could include a new type of touch screen from developer Senseg that would allow the screen to take on a different feel based on what was being rendered on the screen. For example, Fox reports, “rocks might feel rough, silk might feel smooth and the user might actually feel an object he or she is moving around the device’s UI.”
Fox’s report said that a Senseg spokesperson said the firm “won’t be making any statements until after Apple’s announcement.”
