Lady Gaga Brthday
Lady Gaga Brthday_ Tomorrow, Lady Gaga will celebrate her 26th birthday and many of her fans, affectionately known as “Little Monsters” will take to social media to join in on the her celebration. The artist formerly known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, who grew up in New York City and briefed attended New York University has since skyrocketed to world-wide fame ever since her debut album, “The Fame” was released in 2008 and featured two mega-hits, “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” Those two songs gave her the distinction of being the only artist in the digital era to each sell over five million copies.

Lady Gaga is now one of the most easily recognized celebrities in the world, with a different look practically every time she makes a public appearance. She is even the Godmother to son of another performer who recently celebrated his birthday, Elton John. Social media has widely embraced her and you need look no further than her Facebook and Twitter pages as a testament to her immense popularity - her Facebook and Twitter pages has nearly 50 million and 21 million followers respectively. In fact she is ranked #1 in total number of followers in Twitter universe. Last year, Forbes had her at #11 amongst the most Powerful Women, #1 for the top celebrity, #8 in Money, # 3 in TV/Radio, #2 in Press, #1 in Social and #1 in Web.

What separates Lady Gaga from many other similar contemporary performers is that she wrote or co-wrote all of the tracks on both her two studio albums and her very popular extended play album “The Fame Monster.” During her incredibly popular Monster Ball world tour that stretched from November 2009 to May 2011, she went from rising star to superstar and by the time she reached San Jose in August 2010 and performed at the downtown HP Pavilion arena, she was arguably the best known singer on the planet.

While she has received numerous awards, including five Grammy Awards and 13 MTV Video Music Awards, she does have her share of critics. Many describe her as trashy, pretentious, profane and controversial with religious overtones. Others might say her music and her occasional performances on the piano lack substance and talent. But there is no question she has millions of adoring fans and very influential - her charitable causes have raised over $200 million for HIV/AIDS awareness and advocates for equal rights to the LGBT community and homeless children. She also has her own non-profit organization, the Born This Way Foundation to “foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated.”

Love her or hate her, Lady Gaga is scheduled to begin her next world tour known as the Born This Way Ball next month and is expected to sell out shows in both Asia and Australia. No shows for the United States have yet to be announced but it appears she won’t be performing stateside until July or later.

With Lady Gaga celebrating her birthday tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how many tweets and posts will be circulating through the social media networks tomorrow. Chances are, the birthday salutations will be coming all day and from all over the world. Happy Birthday, Lady Gaga! You were born this day!
