Don't Go to Work Unless it's Fun Day

Don't Go to Work Unless it's Fun Day_Don't Go To Work Unless It's Fun Day is a holiday birthed from dreamers, free spirits and entrepreneurs. Or maybe it's a bit of spring fever making the responsible worker reconsider sitting at a desk all day and tapping away on a keyboard. If you're truly unhappy with your job, explore why. It may be time to start considering a more satisfying career
* Call in sick or well or take your own "play outside because life is short" day and do something fun.
* If you must go to work, have fun with it.
Find a Rainbow Day
While you're busy not going to unfun job, head outdoors and look for a rainbow. "When the sunlight strikes a raindrop, the light is refracted because the light is moving from one medium (air) to another (water). Drops of rainwater can disperse light in the same way as a prism. ... The rainbow we see is thus a result of many, many raindrops bending the sun's rays," according to DimDima Science Magazine.

* Weather permitting, blow bubbles and look for rainbow colors in them, or turn on the garden hose and make your own rainbow.
* Assemble a plate of rainbow-inspired fruits and vegetables for a snack or to accompany a meal.
* View rainbows found in curious places, like in space.
Tweed Day
Coco Chanel can take the credit for elevating tweed fabric to high fashion, according to Fashion Era. But William March Tweed, aka Boss Tweed, is the reason we have (celebrate might be too strong of a word) Tweed Day. Tweed was born on April 3, 1904, and was best known as the head of the "Tweed Ring." His group was responsible for political corruption in New York, and it is said to have stolen $30 million and $200 million. The lesson for the day is if you want to look dapper, try tweed, but if you're going to do crime, well, be prepared to do some time. Tweed died in his jail cell on April 12, 1978.
Inauguration of Pony Express Anniversary
Now this must have been a pretty fun job. The Pony Express provided a direct connection between the eastern and western parts of the U.S. We are so accustomed to having constant access to direct communication that Pony Express seems merely quaint, not advanced. On the first day of the Pony Express Service, two riders teamed up, one starting at St. Joseph, Mo., and the other at Sacramento, Calif. Between the riders, they traveled a 1,800 miles in 10 days. "The Pony Express could deliver a letter more quickly than ever before," according to the National Park Service. Think about that the next time you're anxious about waiting 10 minutes to receive a text message reply.
Chocolate Mousse Day
Mousse is like a foamy yet rich-tasting pudding. Dessert mousses, containing fruit, began to appear in the second half of the 19th century and were akin to ice cream or parfait according to the Food Timeline. "Chocolate mousse was promoted in the USA about the same time as chocolate pudding mixes."
* Two-ingredient chocolate mousse
* Vegan chocolate mousse
* 150-calorie chocolate mousse
