Gary sinise and car accident, Officials with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation say actor Gary Sinise has postponed a benefit concert by his Lt. Dan Band in Martinsville after being involved in a car accident as a passenger.

Sinise was scheduled to perform in the concert at Martinsville High School on Saturday night. The concert is a fundraiser for Cpl. J.B. Kerns, a triple-amputee, and will be held at a date to be determined, the organizers say. Sinise founded and plays in the Lt. Dan Band.

John Hodge, spokesman for the foundation, says Sinise was not seriously injured in the accident. Sinise also was scheduled to be the grand marshall at Sunday's NASCAR race, the Goody’s® Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Sinise will be unable to attend that as well.

No other details were immediately available.

Sinise was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Lt. Dan Taylor in "Forrest Gump" (1994).
