Gary sinise car accident, Actor Gary Sinise will not make the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Martinsville, or a planned fundraising concert this weekend.

Martinsville Speedway spokesman Mike Smith says Sinise was hurt in a car crash Friday. Smith said Sinise was a passenger, and is not seriously hurt. However, Sinise but will not be able to make it to the track this weekend.

Sinise's Lieutenant Dan Band had been scheduled to be the grand marshal at the Sunday race, and play a benefit concert at Martinsville High School on Saturday night to raise money to help build a "Smart" home for wounded warrior Corporal J.B. Kerns. The Patrick County Marine lost most of his legs, and arms after an IED blast in Afghanistan.

John Hodge, spokesman for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation which is promoting the event, said the concert will be rescheduled, according to the release.

"We are asking ticket holders to wait for the new date to be announced and if they can't make that show, we will refund their money," said Hodges.


WSLS's Morgan Donnelly spoke with Mike Smith, who said Cpl. Kerns will still be the honorary started for the Goody's Fast Pain Relief 500 on Sunday. Smith added that a new grand marshal for the race will be named on Saturday.
