Janet Jackson and nutrisystem slim

Janet Jackson and nutrisystem slim_Doing a weight-loss spot on TV is about as common as 3D movies and baby bumps in Hollywood these days. The latest victor in the celebrity battle of the bulge? Janet Jackson, who reveals a slimmed down figure in a commercial for the Nutrisystem weight loss program, slated to air on Monday, April 9.

And while she's keeping mum about just how much weight she's lost -- "For Janet, it's about feeling good," a rep for the program says -- she has opened up about what weight-loss success looks like, flaunting her tiny new waistline in promotional photos and wearing the year's hottest color -- tangerine.

Struggling with her weight is "something I've dealt with all my life," the 45-year-old singer told Us Weekly in December, when she signed on as a spokesperson for the weight loss program. "People can relate to me because I have lived it. I truly understand what it's like to have a problem with weight loss, losing too much weight or gaining more than you desire to and becoming unhealthy," she said.

In January, Jackson stopped by "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" where she says her heaviest weight was 180 pounds, a number she hit while prepping for a movie role that ended up being postponed.

Rumors circulated that Janet's more recent weight gain was a result of emotional eating following her brother Michael Jackson's death in 2009, a habit she revealed in her diet and self-esteem book, True You.

Jackson joins a growing list of celebrity weight-loss endorsements, including Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey and former NBA star Charles Barkley.
