Secret Service Crash, Mother of 5 Killed By Car Driven By Secret Service Agent, Maria Tripp was crossing the road with her 12-year-old daughter and 19-year-old nephew when she was hit by a car going westbound at about 4:48 p.m., police said. Responding officers found her on the ground with head and body trauma.
“I saw her body on the sidewalk,” Lisa Jones, 61, a nurse’s assistant, told the New York Daily News. “She was face down and, oh, my God, the blood. . . . The girl was screaming."
The driver “got out, stood over her and said, ‘I’m on the job, I’m on the job,’ ” Jones told the paper.
