Man Elmo rant Central Park,The appearance of a hate-spewing man dressed up as Elmo was a jarring one for many New Yorkers who visited Central Park on Sunday afternoon.
The unidentified man was seen shouting obscenities and anti-Semitic accusations while visiting the Manhattan park.
Passers-by took videos of the man who refused to quiet down after pleading parents said that he was disturbing their children.
He also urged listeners to read The International Jew, a pamphlet of anti-Semitic musings by automobile manufacturer Henry Ford in the 1920s.
After tormenting park goers, the man was removed by police and taken by ambulance to New York-Presbyterian Hospital.Though he was handcuffed at the scene, he was not arrested.
It was not the first time that the man turned one of the Sesame Street favorites into a fearmonger.
In a video shot last week, he is seen ranting about a whole circle of problems.
'Get a real job, you're irritating kids,' one parent is seen saying to the costumed man.
'I'm not making money because the Jewish cops have got to keep harassing me!' he responds.
'If you start your own business in this city, Jews will harass you!'
Gothamist found two other videos of what appears to be the same offensive Elmo taking to the proverbial soapbox of Central Park in both April and May as well.
