Protester dies smoke burning U.S. flags – The news over the protests concerning the blasphemy related to the movie “Innocence of Muslims” has taken another sad death as a protester has died from inhaling smoke fumes from burning USA flags.

Protester dies smoke burning U.S. flags
Already far too many people have died after the trailer for a very amateur movie that insulted the Prophet Muhammed surfaced a week or so ago and now the latest death is actually that of an anti-American protester in Pakistan.

Now I know many people will be shouting that he deserves it blah blah blah but this man was another human who has had a needless death over the widening trouble surrounding this movie. Both sides in my opinion have done some serious wrong (the film maker and the protesters) and I am saddened this is polluting the news and causing so much trouble.

I have many Muslim friends, though am not Muslim myself, and a true Muslim mourns the death of anyone.

Pakistan’s Express Tribune reported:

“One of the participants of the rally, Abdullah Ismail, passed away after he was taken to Mayo Hospital. Witnesses said he had complained of feeling unwell from the smoke from US flags burnt at the rally.”

The rally was organised by Jamaat-Ud-Dawa, they are the political arm of the group Lashkar-e-Taiba, a group listed as terrorists. Protesters were said to be threatening destruction of the US embassy in Pakistan unless the USA publically hung the film maker and all people involved in the production, which would be a lot of people! They are also calling for USA to introduce blasphemy laws.

As I have already said, this is all too much. I think it is outrageous to purposely do something against someone’s faith, especially when that is known to be offensive and will fully accept the ill of the film creator. However it seems everyone else involved may have been duped and this action is likely the act of one man. The USA is not to blame and it should be proud of it’s free speech laws. If this movie is hate speech or not would have to be deemed by USA courts, not by angry ill informed protesters. Shame on Egyptian media for starting this storm and being responsible for creating this backlash.
