Las week the cyclist lost his endorsements from Nike, Trek, Giro, Radio Shack, and Anheuser Busch. He was also forced to step down as chairman of Livestrong, the non-profit organization he founded to help cancer patients.

It is reminiscent of other incidents of celebrities behaving badly. Chris Brown, of course, may be one of the most obvious examples of how a celebrity’s actions don’t go unforgiven– especially when it’s as disgusting as domestic abuse.

After the story broke that Brown had hit pop-singer and ex-girlfriend Rihanna, he was quickly dumped by two companies with which he had endorsement deals: Wrigley’s Double Mint Gum and the Got Milk group.

After all, who wants to have the face of a violent person at the helm of a marketing campaign? Brown was dropped almost immediately from both after the Rihanna story was revealed back in 2009.

It is unlikely that Brown will ever be able to garner the same level of respect he once did and it would be shocking to hear if he gets any endorsements in the near future. Same goes for Lance– nobody wants a doper to represent their company.
