New Lions at Calgary Zoo, After nearly six months in the city, two male lions finally made their public debut at the Calgary Zoo Thursday.

Baruti and Aslan — two-year-old males born at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C.— arrived in Calgary in July and have since completed the required quarantine period.The new lions will not breed with the zoo’s two older female lions Tisha and Mbira, who are both 17 years old; however curator Jamie Dorgan said they do hope to breed the males in the coming years.
