Julie Chen had surgery to fix Asian eyes-“Big Brother” host Julie Chen had plastic surgery to fix her “Asian eyes,” she revealed in a shocking TV segment on Wednesday.

The Chinese-American former CBS news anchor admitted she became insecure about her eyes while working for a small TV news channel at age 25 in Ohio, where a boss told her that looking Asian isn’t “relatable,” she admitted on “The Talk.”

“My secret dates back to — my heart is racing — It dates back to when I was 25-years-old and I was working as a local news reporter,” she said on the show.

“I asked my news director … over the holidays if anchors want to take vacations, could I fill in? And he said, ‘You will never be on this anchor desk, because you’re Chinese.’ He said, ‘Let’s face it Julie, how relatable are you to our community? On top of that, because of your Asian eyes, I’ve noticed that when you’re on camera, you look disinterested and bored, ‘” she quoted him as saying.

Chen, 43, said she was later told the same thing by an agent — and soon had plastic surgery on her whole face. That included a procedure to trim excess skin found above her eyelids.

She said her career picked up shortly after.

“And after I had it done, the ball did roll for me,” she said.
But now, she admits, she wonders, “Did I give into the man?”

Chen has been an anchor for CBS Morning News and landed a gig as host of Big Brother in 2000.
