ying unborn child Jubilee Shalom in early December, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar showed off their ironclad faith in discussing the family tragedy that cost them their 20th child on The Today Show, where the devout couple appeared to promote Tuesday's season premiere of 19 Kids and Counting.

“We realize our sweet little Jubilee is with the lord and we will see her again someday,” Michelle said softly. “We have a sweet memory of out little Jubilee for 18 weeks ... Now, we look forward to [seeing] her in heaven.”

Michelle, 45, said the hardest part of the whole ordeal is that “when a loss like this occurs, people don’t know what to say.”

Jim Bob said the entire family "drew closer together because of this experience," adding, "We cried a lot [and] we prayed a lot.”

In regarding to a brewing extortion controversy, in which a woman reportedly was arrested after trying to get the Duggar’s parent network to pay for a set of racy pics of their relative Amy “with a much older man,” -- Jim Bob confirmed the network received a letter from the lady wanting $10,000 from them, leading to an FBI sting operation.

“The pictures were of no substance of all,” he said. “I think she had some mental issues ... so we pray that she can get her life straightened out.”

The conservative Christian family follows Quiverfull, which emphasizes the bible's demands to be fruitful and multiply.


Their 19 children are named Josh, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johanna, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and baby Josie.
