Long-sleeved jacket on bridesmaid dresses
Long-sleeved jacket on bridesmaid dresses_As anyone who has been asked to wear a bridesmaid dress knows, finding a dress that works for all body types and flatters all figures is near impossible. If you then limit that by needing long sleeves on a dress due to weather concerns and it just isn't going to happen. So what do you do when you don't want your girls to freeze to death? The answer is in finding a dress that works and then adding a bolero jacket, shrug, wrap, cape, etc to worry about the weather concerns. The only other chance is going custom and having dresses individually made.
For going custom, the way to go is this. This site is amazing. They offer a range of styles, colors and fabrics. You can easily mix and match to create your perfect look and to top it off the prices aren't through the roof either. The long sleeved look I priced came in around $134 which isn't bad for formal wear not to mention custom formal wear.

If you or any of your girls can sew or know a great seamstress patterns are always an option. At the Vogue pattern site there are a few styles that come with sleeves, and any short sleeve pattern can always be made longer. In this case fabric or color choice is endless. This style is simple with long sleeves. This is a stunning jacket dress combo. This would be better for an evening wedding, while the previous could go for day time. Another stunning jacket dress combo is this style I like this one because the jacket doesn't open in front.

For the most convenient option David's Bridal offers shrugs in 23 colors to match their dresses. David's Bridal has the benefit of being in many locations to simplify out of area bridal party members and offers dozens of styles in the same color if your wedding party happens to vary greatly in shape. This shrug is my favorite of their wrap options. They also offer a sturdier bolero jacket. I'm not a huge fan of the ruffled front though.

Other options are to search diligently through special occasion wear, remembering not to limit yourself to "bridal" party options. Or to add elbow length gloves to a dress to balance out the weather. When trying to select dresses for your bridal party, remember that no woman wants to wear a dress that makes them look awful, and if you have a party member who is short and curvy and one who is long and lean the dress that makes one look stunning won't necessarily flatter the other. Ask them for their opinions on if they think the dress will work for them and ask for help from them in finding dresses. They can lessen the burden on you and make the smiles in the pictures look that much more realistic.
