Multi-style bridesmaid dresses
Multi-style bridesmaid dresses_I love color. And even better than one color, I especially love two or more colors that work beautifully and harmoniously together. Using a multi-color look for your bridal party is right on trend for 2011. There are quite a few ways to pull off some great looks with this trend, and we’ve put together a few fresh ways to use multiple colors.First, you’ll need to decide what colors you want to use. Three is a good balanced number that works nicely. You can use more or less, however, we are going to focus on the selection of three colors. One way to go is to use three shades of the same color, or a Monochromatic color scheme. An example would be a pale purple, medium purple and dark purple. If you want a little more contrast consider using a color triad with two neutrals and a color. If you want a beautiful mix of colors with a lot of contrast, a complementary scheme can be a nice bold way to go. A color triad is a mix of three colors perfectly balanced on the color wheel, like our mustard, teal and passion fruit combo shown above.
Now to apply the colors you’ve chosen to the bridesmaid dresses.
The first way that we really like is the three color dress. One color on the skirt, another around the midriff, and another for the top. This look is fresh and modern and adds a lot of interest to each dress.
Another great way to use the multi-colored look is to pick three colors and then use a combo of 2 of those colors for each girl. This look is especially great when the girls all go with a matching style. It gives a great continuity with just a little contrast, which creates a great bridge between a traditional bridal party line up and a modern edgy look.
If you decide to go with multi-colored dresses, and you also are thinking about putting them all in different styles, consider doing both. Use completely different styles that all use the same combination of colors. This will allow each girl to use the colors where they will look best on them, and to choose a style that works best as well.

The bridesmaid dress has gone from a one time wear, 1980s peachy pink with frilly sleeves, fluffy embellishments, to a sophisticated chic gown that can be worn again and again. Everyone has either been in a wedding or a guest at a wedding and the infamous bridesmaid gown has not always been the "talk of the wedding," or it has for other reasons.
From Vera Wang to Anne Taylor to BCBG Max Azria, the latest trends in bridesmaid fashion is always open for discussion. Being invited to be a bridesmaid in a wedding usually comes with quite a few financial costs. Many bridesmaids find that they have to purchase a bridesmaid dress that the bride chooses. With some brides, the dress can be more unique to the individual, certain brides only choose the color or designer and the bridesmaid has the opportunity to select the most flattering style and cut.
For the trendy bride and wedding party, going with a specific color palate and then allowing the bridesmaids to choose the dress is becoming more and more popular. If you're a budget conscious bridesmaid shopping at a specialized wedding boutique may not be favorable due to the higher costs. Consider finding a gown on sale after New Years or even prom season. Another excellent option is to buy a used bridesmaid dress. Normally you would spend $200 or more at a wedding boutique, however purchasing a gown that has only been worn once, or may not have been worn at all might be your best option. Designer dresses that you find in specialty boutiques are easily found online or at consignment shops.
If you're in a wedding with a laid back bride and there are no strict restrictions on choosing a bridesmaid gown, then select a dress that you would want to wear to another social engagement. A hot trend right now in weddings is to have distinctive multi style dresses worn that fit each bridesmaid's own unique personality. If the bride wishes to go with all pink dresses, then the bridesmaid's would choose varying pink gowns that fit their own personal style. Having unique bridesmaid dresses allows for a more festive and fashionista style wedding. A few favorite styles, to set a truly memorable trendy wedding, by designers include Mori Lee's A Line Dress, Bari Jay Bridesmaid Dress, or a strapless David's Bridal dress. All dresses are unique, but the color hues create a similar theme. Having different bridesmaid dresses whether it be based on color, cut, designer, style is a front runner in wedding day fashion.
When thinking of the fashion for a wedding you can either follow the trends or set the trends. Either way, choosing a special bridesmaid dress can be fun, the outcome rewarding and hopefully one day you will actually wear it again.
