Shawn Brown and Clifford Fose + pull woman from car
Shawn Brown and Clifford Fose + pull woman from car_This is the terrifying moment two sisters were pulled from their car - just seconds before it was destroyed by a speeding freight train.
Monique Dyton, 24, and Christina Johnson, 22, were pulled to safety by two men who had seen their car lodged on tracks in Newark, Delaware.
Monique, who was driving the green Honda sedan, believed she had turned on to a road, but instead became stuck on railroad tracks.
Panicked, she pushed on the accelerator as her sister tried to push the vehicle free - with no success.
Two passersby, Sean Brown and Clifford Fose, spotted that the women were struggling and helped trying to dislodge the car.
Minutes later, the railway line's gates activated, indicating that a train was approaching - yet Dyton stayed behind the wheel in a bid to free the car.
'We get out of the truck, we’re trying to lift the car, [and] next thing you know, "ding-ding-ding-ding-ding",' Fose told WPVI.
The two men yanked the woman from her seat - just seconds before the train crashed into the car, throwing it from the tracks.
The collision closed the intersection for more than two hours, WPVI reported.
There were no injuries, but the women's mother expressed her fear that it could have been a very different outcome.
'My heart just sunk cause all I could think about is [they] could have been killed,' Angela Taylor said.
'I'm hoping that the officials will look into this more and do something about it before someone ends up dead.'
The news station reported that the tracks are a hot spot for similar crashes, with motorists believing they are turning onto a normal road.
