Chaka Khan Trayvon Song
EW.Com reveals the PSA, a music video entitled “Super Life: Fear Kills, Love Heals,” is based on Khan’s 2007 song “Super Life” and features dozens of celebrities — all of whom wear hoodies in support of Martin — at Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood.
"It's up to us as parents and as a community to come together to make a change. I am a mother, and I'm also a mother with a voice. It's time for those of us who have a voice to speak out for life, for love and for justice using the same media we've used throughout our careers," Khan, 58, said in a statement.
"Now is the time to use media for the benefit of humanity as a whole," she added. "We have to be the voice for the voiceless, for the Trayvon Martins of this world."
The music video features Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, Courtney Vance, Garcelle Beauvois, Kelly Price, Keke Palmer, Eva Pigford, Terry Crews, Tom Payne, Kimberly Elise, Toccara and Boris Kudjoe, all wearing hoodies in tribute to Martin.
