Aunt Mary Jones discovered Whitney Houston's body, L.A. County Coroner officials told Whitney Houston’s family that the 48-year-old singer did not die from drowning but from a deadly mix of her prescription drugs. Gossip website TMZ reports that alcohol mixed with Xanax and other drugs killed the pop star.
TNZ cites family sources who were told that the amount of water found in her lungs was too small to assume that she drowned. It is thought that Whitney Houston was already dead when her head submerged in the bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
Family sources also said that the first person to have discovered Whitney’s dead body was her aunt Mary Jones who pulled her out of the tub and began administering CPR in an attempt to revive her.
